According to the latest police update, after an extensive search the suspect has not been found. Police are continuing their search, but the shelter-in-place order has been lifted.  The police statement continued:

We ask for your continued vigilance as we attempt to locate Jacobs. Please contact authorities if you have any information regarding his whereabouts. We thank you for your patience and cooperation as this incident rapidly evolved.

`The Eau Claire Police Department is asking people to shelter in place and avoid the area of Randall Park in Eau Claire. This is the area in red in this map. In a story from WEAU news this morning there is a report that the police are looking for a suspect with a gun in the neighborhood around Lakeshore Elementary at 9th Avenue and Broadway Street. They also reported that a police drone was searching the area.  

Jerome Jacobs

The suspect has been named - Jerome Jacobs.  Police ask that if you see this suspect that you should not approach him.. He may be armed.
