MADISON – Gov. Tony Evers’ announcement today that he will join the U.S. Climate Alliance is a major step toward combating climate change in Wisconsin, and is a positive indication the Administration will deliver on its promised pro-conservation agenda.

Executive Director Kerry Schumann offered this on the announcement:

“By joining the U.S. Climate Alliance, Gov. Evers is demonstrating his commitment to combating climate change. Throughout their campaigns, he and Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes pledged to embrace science and take steps to protect Wisconsin from the devastating effects of climate change. This is a major step in fulfilling that promise. As conservation voters, we applaud this bold move. It’s great to watch as the state begins to wake up from nearly a decade of climate denial, destructive environmental policy, and environmental injustice. It truly is a new day in Wisconsin.”
