The League of Women Voters of Greater Chippewa Valley invites members, supporters, and the public to join them in honoring Bill of Rights Day with music, speakers, and a public recitation of the Bill of Rights.

3 – 4 pm
Outside the Federal Building, 500 S. Barstow Street, Eau Claire
Adopted in 1791, the Bill of Rights was created to safeguard liberties in the newly formed United States. The founders recognized the importance of protecting personal freedoms in the face of a strong federal government — a principle that remains vital today.
Those liberties include freedom of the press, freedom of assembly and petition,
freedom of speech, the right against unreasonable searches and seizures, the right to a speedy and public trial. The League encourages all who value democracy and civil rights to Unite & Rise with us as we reflect on the lasting significance of these foundational freedoms.
