Minong - A 20-year-old Marine from Minong has died in Iraq, the U.S. Defense Department said Monday.
Lance Cpl. Harry H. Timberman died Saturday from wounds received while conducting combat operation in Al Anbar province, the Pentagon said in a statement.
Timberman was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force out of Twentynine Palms, Calif.
Timberman was the 70th soldier or Marine from Wisconsin killed in Iraq since the U.S. invasion in March 2003. As of Sunday, at least 3,217 members of the U.S. military have died in the fighting.
