The City of Menomonie is starting the 2024 Street Oiling Project next week. The project locations are shown on the attached map.
The Project is scheduled for Tuesday, August 6, Wednesday, August 7, and Thursday, August 8. It is weather-dependent, and work will be delayed if rain is expected.
The project includes spraying hot oil emulsion onto the street surface and covering it with small rocks. This will extend the useful life of the roadways, save money, and reduce disruption to adjacent residents.
Residents along the project should:
- Do not park on the roadway the night before or during the work.
- Keep children and pets away from the hot oil for at least 24 hours.
Residents can drive (and park) on the roadway as soon as the small rocks have been placed. The roadway will have loose rocks for at least two weeks, so please drive carefully and slowly.
We appreciate everyone's patience!
If you have any questions about the 2024 Street Oiling Project, please get in touch with Street Superintendent Dave Frank at 715.232.2302 extension #3.
