The Eau Claire City-County Health Department has issued a new local health order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The new order is in effect until May 28 and extends the previous health order to provide specific guidance for businesses involving one-to-one services including hair-cutting and other personal services. This order for the first time would allow providing such personal services in the county.
“We know that employees, employers, and our community members don’t want to unknowingly spread COVID-19 in close-contact situations,” said Lieske Giese, Eau Claire CityCounty Health Department Director. “We really view all of our businesses and community members as partners in this effort to slow the spread of disease in Eau Claire County.”
Personal service providers must wear a face mask or shield at all times, and clients will wear masks when possible. Providers must not see more than ten clients per day, and social distancing must be maintained. Waiting rooms must be closed and client should wait in their cars until their appointment time.
