Northern Thunder is a grassroots organization in western Wisconsin that was formed as a student group on Earth Day in 1970. The group organized many actions and projects around activism and the environment through 2008, including creating television programs and creating WHYS Radio, the community radio station in Eau Claire.
Recently a group of young activists has started to revive the organization with an emphasis on climate change, energy, and environmental activism. DIana Witcher is their lead organizer and I spoke to her during the JFC Budget Hearing in Menomonie.
