Meeting & Presentation, 1-2:30pm: Military Dog Tags with Bill Parker

Join the Genealogical Research Society of Eau Claire (GRSEC) for their March meeting at the Chippewa Valley Museum. Bill Parker will present Military Dog Tags. You'll learn how to read serial numbers, vaccination dates and even religious information. Through research you will be able to learn unit information, battle history, and if particular soldiers were awarded a particular medal. Bill is Military Historian at the South Wood County Historical Museum in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, serves on the Wisconsin Rapids Historical Preservation Commission, is a collector of American Military memorabilia and a Civil War reenactor.

GRSEC is a non-profit educational society dedicated to preserving family history and stories in the Chippewa Valley. Meetings are held the second Saturday of months from September - May at the Chippewa Valley Museum. Doors open at noon and genealogy help is available in the museum library from noon-1pm. Meetings begin at 1pm and visitors are encouraged to attend.
