The sound of romantic music will fill the air at Oaklawn Inn on February 9, 2025 at 3 p.m., when the Dean's List String Quartet performs a Valentine's Day program. The Quartet is made up of Angie Sutliff on cello, Susan Trotter on viola, and Lila Barneson and Dean Langby on violin. All are local musicians.
The Oaklawn Inn has historic connections to Menomonie's past. Built in 1889 by the Tainter family, one of the founders of Menomonie and builders of the Mabel Tainter Theater, the Inn was once surrounded by a stock farm and horse racing tracks. Andrew Tainter was a horse racing enthusiast. The Inn has been beautifully renovated to its former Victorian splendor. It now operates as a bed and breakfast.
Seating is limited. Tickets are available by contacting oaklawninn.com or calling 715-235-6155.
