Explore the science of shadows and put on a spooky (or not so spooky) Halloween show! Sometimes, objects (like cardboard puppets) are thick enough to block light as it travels through the air. The size of the shadow depends on how close or far away it is from the light source. Shadows can also stretch and bend as the angle changes between the object and the light source. This is why trees outside a window can sometimes look like a scary monster!

If this planned activity doesn't interest you, there are plenty of other things that might, including micro:bit hands-on, our Lego Wall, cardboard construction, magnet wall challenge, wind tunnel and many more. Come and explore! From 5 to 8 p.m. at the Rassbach Heritage Museum in Menomonie's Wakanda Park.
