We are very sorry to hear that local organic dairy pioneer Castle Rock Organic Dairy is closing down. Castle Rock was one of the first dairies in the area to ship organic milk in returnable glass bottles and has since expanded to produce ice cream, eggs, and butter. Local food co-ops Menomonie Market and Just Local will each receive one more shipment of milk next week, after which the milk will be gone. Menomonie Market will take back returnable bottles until Dec. 4, and Just Local until Dec. 2.

Their products will be sorely missed in our household, and we wish the family all the best.
