The Menomonie City Council announced on Thursday that Police Chief Eric Atkinson has been selected as the new City Administrator. He will begin his new position on April 16, replacing Lowell Prange, who has served as city administrator for 35 years.

Atkinson has served as Police Chief in Menomonie since 2012 after serving in the police departments in Hudson and Prescott. He possesses a BA degree from UW-River Falls and an MA from The University of St. Thomas.

The police chief position is now open and a search will begin to fill it.
