On December 2, 2020, Gov. Tony Evers and Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes hosted their second People's Budget virtual listening session for the 2021-2023 state budget process. This session focuses on the environment, infrastructure, and the economy in Wisconsin.

Steve is a member of LION Publishers , the Wisconsin Newspaper Association, the Menomonie Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Local Media Consortium, is active in Health Dunn Right, and is vice-president of the League of Women Voters of the Greater Chippewa Valley
