Happy Holidays from the SDMA
Dear SDMA Families & Staff,
Season's Greetings from the School District of the Menomonie Area! Best wishes for a happy and healthy winter break. Classes will resume in the SDMA on Monday, January 5, 2026.
As the calendar flips to 2026, here are some informational items that might be helpful for families:
- The district calendars for 2025-26 and 2026-27 are posted on the district website.
- Also posted on the website are the schedules for various SDMA sports and activities.
- The most recent School Crossings column provides important information about school property taxes in Menomonie.
- The SDMA is also happy to partner with the City of Menomonie's Recreation Department in sharing the 2026 Winter/Spring Brochure. Registration begins on January 5.
When school resumes after winter break, building principals will be reviewing student attendance records from the first semester and prioritizing the district's goal of reducing chronic absenteeism during the school year. With only 175 student days scheduled during the school year, missing just two days each month eclipses what is considered to be a level of chronic absence. Parents, please talk with your children about the importance of regular attendance at school, and it is recommended that families do their best over winter break to maintain routines and regular schedules (especially leading up to classes resuming on January 5).
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
