7. Presentation of Budget
District Administrator Joe Zydowsky and Director of Business Services Eric Nelson will present
information on the 2025-2026 budget.
Superintendent Zydowsky began the presentation of the budget section of the meeting and reviewed the 2024-2025 school year. Brian Seguin explained what it means to meet expectations and make major gains.
Eric Nelson presented the preliminary budget and tax levy. The final budget and levy will be presented in October. It is not possible to finalize the budget before the state legislature sets school funding for the year.
The state equalization aid will likely be a smaller percentage of the budget, which will increase the tax levy.
The post-employment benefits fund is now positive and has adequate funds to meet the liabilities for the past few years.
A capital referrendum may be necessary in the future as costs continue to increase while state and federal funds do not keep pace.

District electors are reminded that they do not approve the budget; however, they do vote on the
required local tax levy needed to implement the budget.
