Dear SDMA Families and Staff,
The start of the 2024-25 school year is rapidly approaching. Over the next week, boxholders in the SDMA will be receiving a Back to School Newsletter (click the link for the digital version). Classes will begin on Wednesday, August 28, while the K-8 Meet & Greet Day and Freshman First Day will be held on Tuesday, August 27.
District administrators are very pleased with the staff that has been assembled to work with students and families this year. New teacher orientation was held this week, and the rest of the district's staff will be in next week for professional development and back to school inservice activities. The SDMA is still looking for a few more paraeducators as well as substitute teachers and hourly employees, so please check out the district website or contact the HR Department if you or anyone you know might be interested.
Menomonie Transportation will once again serve as the bus company in the SDMA, and according to a recent Facebook post, the 2024-25 bus routes are ready to go. Parents with transportation questions can call Menomonie Transportation at 715-235-4995 (M-Th, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm).
Practices for several fall activities have already begun, and the first sporting competitions of the season are only a few days away. Schedules for all sports and activities can be found on the district website. Event passes can be purchased at the high school office, and beginning this year, Menomonie High School students will be admitted into home events free of charge by showing their high school student ID.
Sponsorships are still being sought for digital programs and live streamed events, so please contact Activities Director Matt Riley ([email protected]) if you or your business would be willing to purchase a sponsorship or make a donation to MustangsTV or the Mustangs Activities Department.
It is going to be a great school year in the School District of the Menomonie Area. Please do not hesitate to contact your child's school or the district office if you have any questions.
