Both the Eaux Claires festival and Ashley for the Arts announced this morning that they are canceling their musical events for the summer of 2020.
Eaux Claires had previously worked out an agreement with the city of Eau Claire to hold their festival downtown this summer rather than at the prior more rural location. Ashley for the Arts will take place August 12-14 2021.
These festivals join many other spring and summer events that are being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is sad both from the viewpoint of not having the experiences that these festivals bring, and for the economic boost these musical events bring to the area. Music tourism has become a big driver to the local economy, and we hope that these festivals will return bigger and brighter in 2021.
