Menomonie City Council 9/21/2020

Public Comments were taken on the items on tonight's agenda.

New Business - Approximately 7:11

A. Review of the 2021 Business Improvement District 2021 Operating Plan – discussion and possible motion approving

There was no discussion, it was approved by voice vote. 

B. Request to purchase equipment for the Community Services Building project - discussion and possible motion authorizing

This is about $100,00 in equipment. It was approved unanimously by the city council.

C. Review of quotes for retaining wall repair south of the Broadway Street overpass – discussion and possible motion of award

2 quotes were received. The low bid was $23,000 from Dell Construction and was recommended.  The wall on the East side of Broadway has failed. It was built in 1994 and is bulging by 18" currently.  The bid was approved unanimously subject to bonding and insurance issues.

D. Establishing polling locations for November election – discussion and possible motion approving - approximately 0:22

There have been a few changes of polling locations that are different than the city ordinance. This was approved unanimously by voice vote.

E. Budget Transfers – including year end transfers - approximately 0:24

Year-end transfers were approved unanimously.

Mayor's Report - Approximately 0:26

The mayor discussed the new sign by the rain garden, the new city sign at 9th and Wilson, and a few other small issues.

Miscellaneous Business - 0:28

Oak St. is being widened by Broadway to allow turn lanes onto Broadway in both directions. 

There is a new Environmental Supervisor position that will be filled soon.
