In what will probably be the last candidate forum before next week's election, UW-Stout students held a candidate forum for the 10th Senate District and 29th Assembly District candidates. Note that the video and audio quality is at times spotty - we live in the world of beer, brats, the Packers, and lousy internet bandwidth.

The 2020 Stout Meet the Candidates Forum was the featured event of registration week at UW Stout and is hopefully the first in a long line of Stout-sponsored candidate events where Stout students and the community question the candidates on a range of issues. This event was sponsored by SSU (Stout Students Unite), SSA (Stout Student Association) and was hosted by Simon Brown (Vice President SSU) and Deon Canon (Treasurer SSU).

SSU and SSA have joined a broad institutional effort to increase voting and engagement and we look forward to the best turnout yet in 2020. The event covers a range of topics, from education, to poverty, mental health, the environment, and public policy. The candidates displayed some consensus but also showed clear differences that will help voters make their decisions in 2020.

The event was broadcast via zoom and the recording was made 10/27 from 7-8:30 pm and enjoyed a large audience of students and community members. The participants were John Calabrese, Patty Schachtner, and Clint Moses. Rob Stafscholt had other commitments.
