On Monday Sept. 27 the Menomonie School Board changed the masking policy for the district to require masks on all students in grades K-6 until such time that vaccines became available for students in that age range.
Today the district announced that there will be a special board meeting on Sunday, Oct. 3 at 1 PM to consider the masking policy again. The meeting will be live-streamed here.
According to the detailed agenda on the SDMA Board Docs Public Site:
Board Member Tanya Husby requested this special meeting to modify the masking policy that the Board approved on Monday. The proposed policy is attached.
If this policy is approved by the Board, it would go into effect on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, as it would take a day to communicate to families which classrooms/grade levels/buildings for which masks would be required.
Masks will continue to be required in the SDMA for all K-6 students on Monday, October 4,
The new masking proposal was changed partly due to input from legal counsel in the school district. The new proposed masking rules are attached below.
