MONDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2021, 5:30 P.M.

Members of the public are welcome to provide comments to the Board during the Community Communications item listed on the agenda. In-person community communications will be allowed at Monday’s meeting, but comments may also be provided in writing. B. Approve Revision to the SDMA COVID-19 Plan, Mask Optional Policy

Two motions were made. The one to remove the mask mandate for grade school students on Dec. 13 did not receive a second. The one proposed by Angie Skillings was to end the mask mandate immediately, and a second was obtained for that motion.. 4 yes, 5 no, nos from Riddle-Swanson, Stier, Schneider and Palmer. This left things somewhat in limbo and the current status would be that the mandate will end after students have an opportunity to be fully vaccinated, apparently determined by the District Administrator. 

The board then re-considered the first motion to end the mask mandate on Dec. 13, which was originally brought forward by Amy Riddle-Swanson and which did not receive a second. This motion was seconded this time and a vote was taken. This motion passed 5-4 with members Freeman, Moses, Hillman, and Skillings voting against..

C. Approve SDMA Solar Project

The solar project was approved unanimously.

D. Approve After School Academic Support Pilot at MMS

This item was approved unanimously.

E. Cooperative agreement with Chippewa Falls School District (pulled from consent agenda)

Approved 8-0 with one abstention.

VI. DISCUSSION ITEMS/POLICY REVIEW

A. 2022-2023 District Calendar School would start Sept. 1, the earliest day allowed by the state.This will be brought back for approval at the next meeting. 

B. Annual Free & Reduced Meals Eligibility Report

C. Discuss Purchase of Land Parcel Adjoining the SDMA Environmental Site

D. Set Date for Mid-Year Budget Hearing
