In the school board meeting of the School District of the Menomonie Area on 3/28/2022 area resident Josie Pillman spoke in the Community Communications portion of the meeting, as she has at most of the meetings for several months. In each of these meetings she has chided the school district for their policies on gender identity in the district, the acceptance of gay and transgendered students in the district, and her perceived need for the district to not accept the gender the students in the district identify with if it does not match their biological birth gender.
At this meeting school board member Chris Freeman disagreed with Ms. Pillman's perceptions of the situation and offered to work with her on a mutually agreeable solution. District teacher Jay Collins also spoke and disagreed with Ms. Pillman's viewpoint. This is an unedited video of the Community Communications portion of the board meeting.
