Fire overnight at The Great Escape

Menomonie fish-fry favorite bar The Great Escape had a major fire at approximately 2 AM on Wed. Sept. 28. At the moment we know nothing about the possible cause of the fire. The building was empty at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.  The fire encompassed about one third of the building and was put out within 20 minutes of the arrival of firefighters.  A video was posted on Facebook showing large flames. The bar owners posted on Facebook this morning indicating that the bar will be closed until further notice.
