At approximately 3:55 PM today (April 18) the Menomonie Police Department responded to reports of a subject brandishing a knife at Walmart patrons. Walmart (180 Cedar Falls Rd.) placed the store under lockdown temporarily as the police resolved the issue. There were no injuries during the incident and two people were taken into custody and will be charged.
The police department wishes to thank the Wal-Mart staff for their swift cooperation and all of the Wal-Mart patrons for their patience. The police stated that there was no danger to the public.
