IV. ACTION AGENDA

A. Approve 2024-2025 District Calendar

The calendar was approved as presented in the modified calendar.  School now resumes on Jan. 2 after winter break. 

V. DISCUSSION ITEMS/POLICY REVIEW

A. Report on 2023 Wisconsin Act 20

Act 20 is the new Early Reding Law.  Schools are required to give specified science-based reading instruction. The initial implementation begins next school year. A program has been selected for K-5 students.

B. Review 2023-2024 Budget Revisions

C. Number of Regular and Special Education Spaces Available for Open Enrollment

D. Policy 451.2, Student Immunization (First Reading)

This has not been visited since 2002.  It mostly has had some changes of names of agencies and to reflect better the policy of informing parents of immunizations required. This will come back for approval at the next school board meeting. 

E. Policy 453, Administration of Medication to Students (First Reading)

This is a new policy. More parents are requesting that supplements be given to students in the school and the new policy provides guidance for non-prescription medications. 

F. Review Plans for Sharing Referendum Information with the Community

There is a new web page about the referendum. There will be multiple presentations in the community about the referendum, and students are doing a written pamphlet and a commercial giving information about the referendum vote.
