The Community Foundation of Dunn County held its annual luncheon on Thursday, May 16, at Tanglewood Greens. The luncheon was heavily attended, and congratulations were given to the nonprofit groups in the county who have received grants from the foundation. 

Grant Recipients included:

  • The Bridge to Hope - $4496 for emergency shelter beds
  • Chippewa Valley Habitat for Humanity - $3000 for the Menomonie Twin Home
  • Salvation Army of Dunn County - $3000 for their emergency fund
  • Literacy Chippewa Valley - $5000 for corrections education in the Dunn County Jail
  • United Way St. Croix and Red Cedar Valleys - $5000 for their diaper program
  • Local News Group - $2000 for the Menomonie News Net journalism project
  • UW-Stout Police Department $5000 for the Community First Responder Project
  • Workforce Resource - $3000 for job support for low-income individuals
  • COMPASS - $5000 for transportation for older adults and people with disabilities
  • Hoof Beat Therapeutic - $3500 for equine therapy for those experiencing mobility challenges
  • Movin' Out - $2380 for housing education toward affordable housing
  • Dunn County Health Department - $1000 for multi-lingual books for children
  • Grace Lutheran Foundation - $4500 for an outdoor community space
  • Staying Put, Inc. - $2500 for rides to medical appointments for those with limited transportation options
  • West Central Wisconsin Community Action Agency - $1400 for upgrades to the Boyceville Food Pantry
  • Wisconsin Milkweed Alliance - $4190 to reduce harm for individuals who use substances
  • Boyceville Baseball Association - $5000 to improve the facility at Pafko Park to meet Babe Ruth standards
  • Menomonie Baseball Association - $5000 for a new batting cage
  • Boys and Girls Clubs Menomonie Center - $3000 for a care closet at River Heights Elementary
  • Chippewa Valley Council, Scouting America - $250 for summer camp aquatics
  • Junior Achievement of Wisconsin - $2486 for a career exploration program for high school students focused on construction
  • Positive Alternatives - $1450 for a teen-centered safe space
  • The Dunn County Historical Society - $1800 for professional development on inclusive museum projects and to spark opportunities for collaboration with nonprofits.
  • The Mabel Tainter Theater - $1500 to upgrade the theater's wireless microphone system
  • Ridgeland Area Library - $1500 to digitize local history and artifacts

It was a happy opportunity to highlight the good work being done by nonprofits in Dunn County.
