3. Public Comments

There were no public comments.
4. New Business
   a. Proposed Contract for Wisconsin Hazardous Materials Response System Services for July 1,
2025, through June 30, 2027 – discussion and possible action.

The county is contracted as a level b responder to hazardous events in the county (where the hazardous chemical is known).  If it is an unknown waste Eau Claire County will respond. This contract brngs in about $16,000 per year. There is roughly one response per year. The contract is in the packet. 

The contract was approved by voice vote. 
   b. Special Event Requests – discussion and possible action:
      i. Fall Fun Vendor Show, Wilson Park, September 14, 2025.

The permit info is in the packet. The event was approved by voice vote.


   c. Mayoral Appointments to Boards and Commissions – discussion and possible action:
      i. Urban Forestry
         1. Porter Swartz (to complete 3-year term to December 2027)
Thej appointment was approved by voice vote. 
5. Budget Transfers

There was a budget transfer to the fire department to cover the replacement of fire hose that did not pass inspaction after 22 years.

The transfer was approved unanimously by roll-call vote.

6. Mayor’s Report

There is a ribbon cutting for the new Phelan Park playground, the new work by Xcel energy,, and Papa Johns.  These events should all be in the Eye On Dunn calendar.
7. Communications and Miscellaneous Business
   a. Phelan Park Playground Ribbon Cutting Thursday June 19 at 3pm. - Freezie pops will be provided.

The lifeguards saved the life of a small child at the waterpark. 

Chief Hollister was recognized for his 35th anniversary with the city police department.

Monday, June 23, from 3:30 to 4, there will be an unveiling of 2 EV charging stations at Stout at Sorenson Hall. They are ChargePoint stations .

The Menomonie Baseball Association was recognized for its efforts in maintaining the fields and raising funds.

The Downtown Golf Scramble raised approximately $4,300 for Downtown Menomonie. 

Murals in Menomonie will have an event at the Tainter on the 18th. 


8. Claims

The revised claims list was approved. The City will be paying partially for the Christmas festivites downtown this year.

The claims were approved unanimously.


9. Licenses
   a. Normal license list – discussion and possible action

There is a very long license list this time. It was approved by voice vote. 
   b. 2025-2026 License Renewal list – discussion and possible action.

Approved by voice vote.

 
   c. Application for Class B Combination License (“Class B” and Class “B”) from Braun Hospitality
WI, LLC for The Abbey Pub & Grub (414 Main Street East) – discussion and possible action.

Abbey Pub and Grub has been sold and is going to be operated by Braun Hospitalith WI, LLC. - The new owner is a former employee at The Abbey and it is expected there will be no changes in the operation of the business.
