Verizon outages reported across the US

Update - it appears the issues with Verizon Wireless were resolved some time yesterday evening and the reports of outages have plummeted.

Outages have been reported across the US for Verizon mobile services. The reports started around 11 AM today and continue. The outages seem to mostly be in major cities, particularly on the East coast, but have also been reported in many other areas, including WIsconsin. According to DownDetector.com the number of reports has slowed somewhat in the past half hour.
