Voter Registration - Time is running out

The upcoming primary election is very important for the future of Wisconsin. You will have a chance to vote in primaries for many state legislative offices, and to select the Democratic candidate for Governor. 

But to vote, you need to be registered. The deadline for registering by mail or registering on-line is July 25 - that's this Wednesday. If you are registering by mail, your application needs to be postmarked by the 25th and sent to your municipal clerk. You must include proof of residence with your applicaton to register.

You may register in-person at your municipal clerk's office up to August 10 at 5  PM. To register in person you must also provide proof of residence. 

Lastly - you may also register to vote at your polling place when you go to vote. And yes, you still need proof of residence. 

The rules on proof of residence, etc. can be a little complex, so don't let this go till the last minute - you may end up having to go back home for more documentation. 

If you want to vote absentee, there's still time (assuming you are already registered) and you may request an absentee ballot.  You can request an absentee ballot on-line at https://myvote.wi.gov . You may also request an absentee ballot from your municipal clerk but must do so by August 9 at 5 PM.  There are some special deadlines if your are permanently confined or serving overseas.  All of the deadlin information is available at https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/VoterDeadlines .

Early voting is already open and you may vote by visiting your municipal clerk.
