The upcoming Dairyland Forum and Rally for Rural Wisconsin has been cancelled due to concerns with the spread of COVID-19. Danielle Endvick of the Wisconsin Farmers Union announced the cancellation this afternoon in an email.

We were looking forward to gathering together at the Dairyland Forum on March 29th in Menomonie for a great day of local food, music, and hearing from presidential candidates about their platforms on monopoly power, family farms, and the key issues impacting rural America.

Unfortunately, due to growing concerns over the Coronavirus and the potential for it to spread at large gatherings, we have decided to cancel the event. This decision comes after much thought and at the advisement of local health officials.

However, Wisconsin Farmers Union will continue to actively elevate rural issues as the months progress toward the election. If you're interested in being a part of this effort, please let us know. We especially are seeking farmers or other advocates who are comfortable speaking about rural issues with media or hosting reporters and/or candidates at their farm or business. To be added to our media speaker bureau, please contact Tommy Enright at [email protected] 715-563-2169.

"Due to increasing concerns around the spread of the Coronavirus, we could not move forward on this event in good conscience," said WFU Executive Director Julie Keown-Bomar. "We do look forward to hosting other rural issue forums later this year and anticipate offering many other opportunities to lift up rural voices and educate leading up to the election."
