In a nail-biter of a race, incumbent US Representative Ron Kind (D) has won in the race against challenger Derrick Van Orden (R). The unofficial result gives Kind 199,676 votes against Van Orden's 188,681. Locally only Eau Claire county was won by Kind, with Chippewa, Dunn, Pierce, and Pepin counties falling into the Van Orden camp.
