JUDGE CRAWFORD AND JUDGE SCHIMEL FACE OFF IN DEBATE ON MARCH 12, 2025, PRESENTED BY WISN 12 AT MARQUETTE UNIVERSITY LAW SCHOOL

MILWAUKEE, WI (February 13, 2025) – WISN 12 is presenting the ‘WISN 12 Commitment 2025 Wisconsin Supreme Court Debate’ on March 12, 2025, from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The debate, which takes place ahead of the election on April 1, 2025, features Dane County Circuit Court Judge Susan Crawford and Waukesha County Circuit Court Judge Brad Schimel.

“The cases facing the court will have a tangible impact throughout Wisconsin,” says Shawn Oswald, president and general manager of WISN 12. “We’re providing viewers with the opportunity to get clear answers to pointed questions.”

The ‘WISN 12 Commitment 2025 Wisconsin Supreme Court Debate’ will be held in front of a live, invite-only audience at the Lubar Center at Marquette University Law School’s Eckstein Hall. It will be moderated by WISN 12 News’ journalists Matt Smith and Gerron Jordan. In addition to being broadcast live on WISN 12, the debate will livestream on wisn.com and on ‘Very Local’ – WISN 12’s free streaming app.

The April election will determine the ideological balance of Wisconsin’s Supreme Court. In the coming years, the court could be deciding on numerous controversial issues such as abortion access, election laws, congressional redistricting, and union rights. The race is shaping up to be the most expensive judicial election in United States’ history.

“The national spotlight is on this high-stakes election,” adds Oswald. “This debate will cut through the campaign clutter and prepare voters before they cast their vote.”

Along with being broadcast in Southeastern Wisconsin on WISN 12, the debate will also air statewide on the WISN 12 UPFRONT partner stations in Green Bay (WBAY), Madison (WKOW), Wausau (WAOW), Eau Claire (WQOW) and La Crosse (WXOW). Please check local listings for complete schedules.

Credentialed media is invited to cover the debate. Contact Kevin Conway at MU [email protected] to RSVP/(M) 414-202-9329/(O) 414-288-4745.
