The City Water Department will be conducting routine spring flushing of water mains in the area highlighted on the attached map of Menomonie on Tuesday, April 1st, weather permitting.
This is a standard maintenance procedure performed each spring to help maintain water quality and keep the system running efficiently.
During and shortly after the flushing process, you may notice temporary discoloration of your water. Please be assured:
This is not a health hazard.
The discoloration is caused by harmless mineral particles stirred up during the flushing.
It’s best to avoid using your washing machine or dishwasher during this time to prevent potential staining.
If your water appears discolored, simply run the cold tap at full flow until it clears.
We’ll share updates as crews finish in this area and move to other parts of the City.
If you have any questions, please contact the Water Department at 715-232-2395. Thank you for your understanding as we carry out this routine work to keep your water system in top shape.
