MADISON, Wis. – With less than one month to go before Election Day, Wisconsin election officials are demonstrating that they are fully ready to administer the November General Election.
The Wisconsin Elections Commission recently released its “How Wisconsin is Ready for the November 2024 Election” report, a detailed document that outlines the various ways in which the Commissioners and WEC staff have prepared for November.
The Commission is proud to share with Wisconsin citizens the level of detail and attention given to preparing for the 2024 General Election.
The report contains across-the-agency updates, including internal staff planning, training of election officials around the state, upgrades to the statewide voter registration database and the MyVote website, a review of the WEC’s voter accessibility program, election security preparations, and an outline of a statewide voter outreach project designed to inform voters about how to engage with the electoral process.
“Running a successful election requires careful planning and the dedication of thousands of election workers across the great state of Wisconsin,” said WEC Administrator Meagan Wolfe. “We started those preparations four years ago, and we’re proud of what we have accomplished in laying the groundwork for a safe, secure, and accurate election in November.”
The report also includes updates on the WEC’s election subgrant program that provides funding to municipalities and counties for election administration needs, along with the staff’s customer service preparations to deal with the tens of thousands of calls and emails that come to the agency in advance of the November election.
Finally, the report also contains an updated response from the Commission regarding the 30 recommendations from the Legislative Audit Bureau’s 2021 report on elections administration in Wisconsin. The current status of each LAB recommendation is outlined in the report.
The WEC’s complete 2024 Readiness Report is available here and at https://elections.wi.gov/elections/how-wisconsin-ready-november-2024-election.
I finally got the horrible looking images on the front page fixed to be of a decent resolution. It's a long story. I've also tracked down a few odd bugs and reported them to the developers of the individual packages. This site is currently running on a very new and not quite released Drupal distribution so there are a few things that are not yet rock stable.
I'm also just about ready to let people put in their own events on the calendar. Stay tuned.
We are also in discussions about adding in more content to the site -- a press release service, and (I hope) soon carrying obituaries.
