Lake Hallie, WI – State Representative Kathy Bernier (R-Lake Hallie), announced today that she is a candidate for the 23rd State Senate district, currently represented by Terry Moulton (R-Chippewa Falls).
“Wisconsin is moving forward and it is time to build on that success on behalf of the residents of west-central Wisconsin. I am proud of my record in the State Assembly, and am excited to announce my candidacy for State Senate,” said Bernier.
“I remain committed to the same principles that have guided my work in the Assembly: responsible taxes, sound budgets, safe schools and communities and worker training. While Washington D.C. might be in turmoil, Wisconsinites have a government that is working for them every day.
“I’m excited to get to work and meet the people of the 23rd Senate District. Senator Moulton has been a model public servant and a close friend and I wish him all the best in retirement,” Bernier concluded.
Elected in 2010, Bernier has represented the 68th Assembly District. Prior to that, she served as the Chippewa County Clerk as well as a Lake Hallie Village Trustee. Bernier lives in Lake Hallie and has 3 children and 6 grandchildren.
