This morning there was a considerable amount of interest generated in the 23rd State Senate District, as two-term State Senator Terry Moulton announced that he will not run for another term. This apparently did not come as a surprise to Representative Kathy Bernier, who very quickly followed up by announcing that she will be running for Moulton's seat.
It remains to be seen who the Democrats will run for this seat in a year where by all indications any seat may be up for grabs by either party. This may also be complicated by the current gerrymandering case in the Supreme Court, which could possibly move the boundaries of this district to be less favorable to the Republicans. May we live in interesting times.
