The New York Times reported yesterday that the FBI has been meeting with company officials at FaceBook and Google to see if they can get some better hooks into their systems to aid in their investigations. Put this together with the USA Patriot Act and you essentially don't have a 4th Amendment. From the article:
"Under the proposal, firms would have to design systems to intercept and unscramble encrypted messages. Services based overseas would have to route communications through a server on United States soil where they could be wiretapped."
