If you have been wondering about the closure of the intersection at Red Cedar and Highway 12, this is an update from the city :
Red Cedar Street Update June 26, 2023. On the morning of Wednesday June 21 there was a single vehicle accident at the intersection of Stout Road and Red Cedar Street. Unfortunately, the accident damaged the traffic signal control cabinet, rendering the traffic signals at the intersection unusable. It was decided that the intersection would not function acceptably in a four-way stop configuration. Therefore the north and south approaches from Red Cedar Street to Stout Road were closed. Traffic on Red Cedar Street may use Schneider Avenue on the south or the Frontage Road on the north to access 21st Street East or Lookout Road. Variable Message Board signs were placed near Kwik Trip and Dunn County to provide advance notice to drivers. The new traffic signal control cabinet has been ordered and is expected to be installed by Monday July 10. The intersection will be reopened as soon as possible. Please contact David Schofield, Director of Public Works, at 715.232.2221 ext. 1020 with any questions.
