Dunn County Road Buckle

DUNN COUNTY – On Thursday, July 2, 2020, beginning just before 6:00 p.m., WI State Patrol Northwest Region – Eau Claire Post troopers, inspectors, and Dunn County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a road buckle across both westbound traffic lanes of I-94 just before State 25 (mile marker 42) near Menomonie.

The westbound lanes were closed and an alternate route was utilized for over two hours as the Dunn County Highway Department made repairs. State Patrol drone footage was taken at the scene:

Update --- the road is patched and traffic is again normal. It's always amazing what a snarl these highway closures cause in Menomonie.

Westbound highway 94 has been closed since approximately 7 PM near mile marker 42 due to buckling of the pavement on the Interstate. Traffic is being directed through Menomonie, causing a considerable backup through town. According to the highway patrol traffic will return to normal some time after 9 PM. The State Patrol asks drivers to slow down, pay attention, and expect delays. Drivers should try to take an alternate route between Exit 45 and 41 if possible.
