SDMA Superintendent Joe Zydowsky's blog yesterday announced the beginning of the new school lunch program in the school district starting today. A cold grab and go breakfast and lunch are available every day. Details are available here.

Hello SDMA Families and Staff,

With spring break in the SDMA coming to a close, here are a few reminders as we work to provide some essential services and home learning opportunities for students:

  • Please refer to my message from last week regarding plans for moving forward with learning in the SDMA. Teachers will be reaching out to all students this week.
  • Free meals for children in the SDMA will start on Monday, March 23 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm at the High School, Middle School, and Wakanda Elementary. Please drive around to the front entrance of each school, stay in your car with the window down, and our staff will hand you the meals. While we ask that everyone register online or call so we know how many meals will be needed at each location, there will be a few extra meals available at each location for any families who are not able to sign up in time.
  • All SDMA buildings are closed to the public. This now includes the Administrative Service Center. Most SDMA employees will be working remotely this week, so email is probably the best mode of communication at this time. If you need to call a school office, please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible. The SDMA staff directory is available on the school district website.

Thank you again for your patience, support, and flexibility during these challenging times. We will continue to monitor the situation and look for ways that we can support the students, staff, and families in our school district. We will continue to provide timely communication updates as more information becomes available.

Have a good week, and please do what you can to help #FlattenTheCurve- please remember to wash your hands :)

Joe Zydowsky
