Use basic materials to create awesome costumes! In the span of four days participants will design, build and develop armor from cardboard, EVA foam and other materials. Learn how to transfer an idea from paper to fit your body, cut, bend and score cardboard to create strong shapes, and use common items to create amazing props. Acitivities will involve creativity, problem solving and play-testing! At the end of the class we'll have a green screen set up for you to showcase your creation.

Join us for a delightful Mother's Day craft workshop where kids can unleash their creativity! On May 6th at our Menomonie Store your little ones will paint their own flower pots, plant herb plants provided by our local partner, Good Root Growers, and create a heartfelt card for Mom.

All supplies are included in the admission fee, so just bring your imagination! Parents are welcome to stay and join in the fun or return at 6 PM to pick up their kiddos. Let's make this Mother's Day extra special!

An Eau Claire native and active member of the Chippewa Valley music scene, Emily played guitar in the Grammy-nominated UW-Eau Claire Jazz Ensemble I, where the band won the Downbeat Award for Best Undergraduate College Big Band. She plays guitar for the Chippewa Valley Jazz Orchestra and received coaching from the Grammy-winning New York Voices.
A versatile guitarist skilled in jazz, funk, country/folk, classical, blues, and rock, Emily performs with Uncommon Denominator, an 8-piece band voted Best Cover Band in the Chippewa Valley for six consecutive years. She has played in thirty musical theatre productions and performed at the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre.
As an educator, Emily serves as Guitar & Bass Camp Program Director at The Shell Lake Arts Center and maintains a private studio in Eau Claire. She teaches guitar, ukulele, and bass to students of all levels, from beginners to advanced theory. Contact: [email protected].

Nonviolence, joy as a radical act of defiance, art that speaks louder than words, bold protests, and the refusal to conform to oppressive cultural norms - these are the tools that ignite change. And at the heart of it all? Building a beloved community, where relationships thrive across the divides that separate us.

As Rev. Gretchen Haley so passionately reminds us, 'These times ask us to instead be what Martin Luther King Jr. called, 'creatively maladjusted.' These times ask us to see and name what is not right, what is dis-ordered in the world and to refuse to believe it is normal, or acceptable, or moral - and instead to believe that we are meant for something else - to expect peace, and equality, and mutual respect - for everyone, including ourselves...

This is our moment to reshape reality, to transform what is into what should be. Together, we can make resistance not just a fight - but a celebration of what's possible.
