Colored Shadows

When lights of different colors shine on the same spot on a white surface, the light reflecting from that spot to your eyes is called an additive mixture because it is the sum of all the light. We can learn about human color perception by using colored lights to make additive color mixtures.

Meet the Author - Angela Roloson

Saturday, July 19, 11am-2pm. Meet author and cancer survivor Angela Roloson. She'll have books for sale and signing.
About the Book:
At age 46, Author Angela Roloson found herself facing her own mortality. Angela, a single mom and a high school English teacher, received the news no one wants to hear: You have cancer. This was not the first difficult fight she had faced, and that merging of two challenging battles is what makes this cancer memoir different from others.
In this beautifully written and deeply moving memoir, Angela shares with vulnerability and with humor, the account of her battle with breast cancer. She tells her story with unflinching candor through the unique lens of recovery from alcoholism. Angela takes readers into the world of surgeries and chemotherapy, of trauma and anxiety, and of hope and resilience.
Cancer Taught Me: A Memoir of Experience, Strength, and Hope is an important read for anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer or watched a loved one battle the disease. More than that, this inspirational memoir is for anyone who has ever faced a challenge that seemed insurmountable for it is through adversity that we experience the most potential for growth.
About the Author:
Angela Roloson is a cancer survivor, wife, mother, and grandmother who lives in west central Wisconsin with her husband, their two dogs and three cats. She taught high school English for 28 years, most recently in Altoona, and following retirement embarked on a career as an author.

Meet the Authors - David Tindell and Joe Egan

Saturday, August 16, 11am - 2pm. Meet authors David Tindell and Joe Egan. They'll have books for sale and signing.
Thriller author David Tindell.
The thriller: a novel that uses suspense, excitement, apprehension and exhilaration to tell a story. If that's what you're looking for in a story, you'll find it in David's books.
You will meet men and women who have dedicated themselves to pushing their limits. We will travel with them to exotic places, stand with them as they face great challenges, and do our best to bring them home safely. They are people who are really not that different than you and me, but who perhaps have taken those steps we long to take, toward goals that may seem out of reach, but if they can be attained...well, it will be worth the trip.
David's newest:
THE SILVER FALCON

October 1990. A mysterious object is seen floating eastward over Alaska, resembling a silver falcon of Tlingit legend. Air Force radar can't see it. Fighter jets scramble to intercept the object, but all the pilots can do is watch it cruise across the border into Canada, where it comes down in a remote part of the Yukon Territory.
USAF special operator Jo Ann Geary, the White Vixen, is dispatched to Dawson City to assist Canadian Rangers in the search for the object in the Cloudy Range of Tombstone Territorial Park. They've barely started their hike when all radio comms with Ottawa and Washington go dead, but not before Jo is told about an unidentified aircraft dropping paratroopers north of the target's last known location. Who are they, and why do they want the Falcon?
As the weather deteriorates, Jo and the Canadian intelligence agent in command of the mission worry that the Rangers will be outnumbered and outgunned if they encounter the airborne troops, who are almost certainly Russians. At the White House, the president is told that the Falcon's technology, whether man-made or extra-terrestrial, could be so important that the invaders might possibly call in a nuclear strike from an offshore submarine if they're unable to keep the Falcon away from the allied force.
Thrust into the midst of indigenous Rangers who don't really trust her, unable to get help from Washington or Ottawa, and facing an enemy force that could be desperate enough to risk war, the Vixen must call on all her skills to survive and prevent the Falcon, whatever it is, from touching off a nuclear cataclysm.
About the Author:
Joe Egan resides in Minnesota with his wife, daughter, and son. He is a four-time published author, devout Catholic, and friend of Bill. You can find him in his spare time driving his truck, penning his next novel, or teeing it up on the golf course. You learn more about Joe at www.joeeganbooks.com.

Joe's Newest:
Steer Clear

The two neighboring businesses never crossed paths until that day. Why they did that day had nothing to do with me. That is, until I was pulled into the chaos. Then it very much became my concern.
Jack Walker, stripped of his dream job and estranged from his mother back home in Wyoming, was convinced he had left the mistakes of his former life in the rearview. That is, until he and his co-worker Stella witness a violent act they were never meant to see in the first place. The haunting episode sparks a tense, prolonged car chase under the cover of a lonely night on the interstate. Can the two of them escape the madness on the road together and confront their innermost demons along the way?
