Wisconsin Fair Maps Coalition Statewide Tour Stopping in Menomonie

Wisconsin Fair Maps Coalition Statewide Tour Stopping in Menomonie

Activists across the state are educating the public and looking for input on an Independent Redistricting Commission (IRC) for drawing Wisconsin legislative voting districts in the future. Bill language for an IRC has been drafted and multiple nonpartisan organizations are working together to gather public feedback.

MENOMONIE – The Wisconsin Fair Maps Coalition and local leaders are kicking off a statewide Fair Maps Community Hearing Tour to shape the future of redistricting in Wisconsin. The next stop is Menomonie.

Wisconsin has fair maps now, but they’re only temporary. Without lasting legislation ahead of the 2030 Census, Wisconsinites risk going back to a system where politicians pick their voters — and ignore the will of the people. That’s why the Coalition has written a draft proposal and is looking for public input.

The Community Hearing will include a presentation on fair maps in Wisconsin, a breakdown of the draft Independent Redistricting Commission (IRC) proposal, and time for questions and input from attendees.

Future Community Hearing locations include: Madison, Milwaukee, and more. FLYER

WHO: All are welcome.

Sponsoring organizations include Wisconsin Democracy

Campaign and League of Women Voters of Wisconsin

Hands Off! Menomonie Fights Back

It’s time to take action! Join the Dunn Co Democrats at our office on April 5, 12:00 pm to get signs, get hyped up, and ready to march down Broadway towards the highway overpass/near the Caribou Coffee (there is also parking in that lot). The protest will be from 1:00 pm-4:00 pm! See you there!

Donald Trump and Elon Musk think this country belongs to them. We are fighting back!

They're taking everything they can get their hands on—our health care, our data, our jobs, our services—and daring the world to stop them. This is a crisis, and the time to act is now.

On Saturday, April 5th, we're taking to the streets to fight back with a clear message: Hands off!

This mass mobilization day is our message to the world that we do not consent to the destruction of our government and our economy for the benefit of Trump and his billionaire allies. Alongside Americans across the country, we are marching, rallying, and protesting to demand a stop the chaos and build an opposition movement against the looting of our country.

A core principle behind all Hands Off! events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
