Join us Halloween night for a double dose of horror movies.
First will be the classic Night of the Living Dead (1968) that follows seven people trapped in a farmhouse under assault by reanimated corpses.
The second scary feature is Scream (1996.) A year after the murder of her mother, a teenage girl is terrorized by a masked killer who targets her and her friends by using scary movies as part of a deadly game.
We'll present a brief history of horror movies -- their legacy, and why they have existed as long as movies have (the first horror movie dates back to 1896!)
Cost: $10 includes both movies, and popcorn, generously provided by CEC Menomonie 7 Theaters
Pop and water will be available for purchase. Note: this is an alcohol-free Halloween event.
Menomonie Transportation is sponsoring a shuttle for the movie night should you need it:
The shuttle will leave the bus loading area between the
student center and the Stout library at 5:30.
They'll stop at the CVS parking lot next
They'll drop off riders at about 5:50 at the museum.
At the end of the night the shuttle will make the same two
drops on the way back
There will be an intermission between films. We have chairs, but feel free to bring a comfortable lawn chair with you if you prefer.
Due to the content, audience is limited to age 18+.
