Menomonie Police press release on Hampton Inn incident

On Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at approximately 3:01 p.m., the Menomonie Police Department was dispatched to 2107 Stout Street, the Hampton Inn and Suites, in the City of Menomonie, for a report of a guest who stated they believed there was a bomb in their vehicle. Officers responded to secure the area and requested the Menomonie Fire Department stage in the area. Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that there was no bomb in the vehicle, no threat was present, and the scene was cleared. There were no injuries or arrests as a result of this incident, and it is being investigated as a mental health related incident. The Menomonie Police Department was assisted by the Menomonie Fire Department, Dunn County Sheriff’s Office, and UW-Stout Police Department.
