Our Help us Name our Website contest is drawing to a close. All entries must be in by 5 PM on Friday, June 7 to be considered. We have some really good entries in the queue. Also I'd like to remind you that we are looking for one or two more people who would be interested in writing for us, either by covering a government meeting beat or writing regularly about some other aspect of life In Dunn County. Please contact me if this sounds like something that would interest you. There will be pay for articles, but you are not likely to become rich in the process.
If you looked at the site on Sunday you may have noticed some big changes. WisCommunity is becoming Eye on Dunn County. Most of the transition work is in place and we hope to be finished later this week. In the meantime, enjoy the new site.
As you may know, a group of Dunn County residents has been working for some time on what has been called the Local News Project. Their intention is to plug some of the holes in local news coverage and to work on local news desert issues.
The group is now Menomonie News Net, and they have launched the first edition of their newsletter. You can read the newsletter and subscribe to it here.
Update -- they now also have a website at https://menomonienewsnet.org
