16.21% of the COVID-19 tests reported today were positive. That is a new record for the state and represents the third consecutive day where the positive percentage is over 10%. This is discouraging, particularly since schools have recently started in the state, and it is expected that there will be an additional burden of cases after the holiday weekend.

Several counties in the state are reporting high percentages, including Kenosha, Fond du Lac, Manitowoc, Outagamie, Ozukee, Portage, Rock, Sheboygan, Washington, and Waupaca counties, all of which report over 50% positive tests in today's count. The highest raw number of cases came from Dane County, which had 157 new cases today. Locally Eau Claire County reports 36 new cases, with 31.58% of the tests being positive.

Please avoid large gatherings, wear a mask when in public, and continue to wash your hands frequently.
