UW-Madison students under 14-day restriction for COVID-19

Madison 365 is reporting that the University of Wisconsin Madison is restricting the activities of students for the next two weeks starting at 5 PM today due to a severe increase in COVID-19 positive tests in the past few days. Chancellor Becky Blank has sent a letter to students restricting in-person interaction and movement of students. Students are allowed to attend in-person classes, go to jobs, attend religious services, and participate in outdoor activities.

All in-person social events and meetings have been canceled, or must be held on-line. All dining activities are now carry-out only, and visitors are no longer allowed in the residence halls. These changes have taken place due to an increase in positive cases on campus that came from participation in activities not enforcing social distancing or mask-wearing. There has been a marked increase in cases of students living off-campus.
