It is going to be a Halloween like we've never seen before. Only small stabs at Trick or Treat. No big organized parties. No costume parades. Please try to stay home and be safe tonight even though -yes, it's sad. I am going to watch the Rocky Horror Picture Show Live Stream tonight - last year I went out with friends to have a few drinks and some food, and to dress up a little. There's no denying, life is different and at the moment I don't see it getting better any time real soon. Will kids years from now taunt each other on Halloween by saying "Watch out or the 'Rona will get you!"? These historical events have a habit of turning into children's songs and legends, even if the real facts were gruesome.

So - first the good news. Daylight Savings Time ends tonight so be sure to reset any clocks that need resetting before you go to bed tonight. You get an extra hour of sleep as 3 in the morning suddenly becomes 2. The bad news is, that this always throws me out of whack for a while, and I'm sure does the same to you. And I dread the effect where 5 PM is suddenly the middle of the night. Maybe it is time for us to stop pretending that all of this clock changing actually makes a difference other than to make us all mad for a few days.

It does give you a chance to get some extra rest in for voting on Tuesday (assuming you have not already - mine went in weeks ago). If you applied for an absentee ballot and it is not yet in, please, in the name of all that is holy, get it into your local dropbox or your local election officials. Your vote matters, particularly in Wisconsin this year, where the race is likely to be really really tight.

Whatever you are doing tonight - take care, be kind to each other, and be safe. Here's hoping for more fun next year. We deserve it.
