COUNTY OF DUNN MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN
NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

In accordance with the provisions of Section 19.84, Wisconsin Statutes, notice is hereby given that a public meeting of the Dunn County Planning, Resource, and Development Committee will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 8:30am in Room 60 at the Dunn County Government Center, 3001 US HWY 12 East, Menomonie, Wisconsin. The building entrance for meetings is on the lower level of the Government Center and will be open 30 minutes ahead of the meeting start time. Items of business to be discussed or acted upon at this meeting are listed below.   A. Register of Deeds monthly report: 

Dunn County's tax bills have been mailed. The Register of Deeds board members helped answer related tax questions and provided the number of forms requested in the past month.

B. Environmental Services monthly department reports

There were 6 septics (POWTS) inspections this December, which is more than usual due to the abnormally warmer weather. 

C. Comprehensive Planning update – West Central Regional Planning Commission
       D. Conservation poster contest judging
   7. Items placed at the request of the Chairperson:
       A. Interpretation of the County Land Division Ordinance with respect to variance requests
       B. Discussion/review of land spreading of human septage
   8. Consideration of Actions to be taken by the Planning, Resource, and Development Committee:

A. Variance request in the Town of Elk Mound to create a Certified Survey Map lot that is bisected by a proposed access easement

The lot plans regarding the Larson family are asking for a variance request to build a new home and shop. There were two options provided for this variance that followed the ordinance code. There is one other residence residing on the shared property driveway. 

The motion passed and the variance has been approved. 


B. Variance request in the Town of Sheridan to create a Certified Survey Map lot that exceeds the 4:1 depth to width ratio requirement

Sandra Bygd is requesting a variance for a 6-acre parcel, giving her more room to own her driveway. Similarly, two options have been provided for this variance following the ordinance code. 

The variance requested was granted

C. Review and take action on the Preliminary Plat of Sand Creek Hills located in Section 28, Township 31 North, Range 11 West, Town of Sand Creek

Due to the size of the plat, the review will only be under county review. All plots will be front-facing towards 810th Street, right off Highway 64. The owner will be dedicating parts of the land to the town for better road access. The town board reviewed the plot but took no action. 

The plat has been approved.
